How did you two meet? At a mutual friends 21st. She then went on to be my maid of honour at our wedding.

How did he/she propose? He popped the question while I was doing a load of washing in the laundry. Nothing romantic about it but totally us.

How did you choose your wedding dress? I tried on maybe 5 or 6 dresses but kept coming back to this same one, it fit perfectly, and I absolutely loved the lace detailing. Something I never thought I’d go for. Donna & kay at brides by Donna Rae were amazing to deal with.

How did you choose your date/venue? I think you chose our date for us lol. It was whatever date you were free. It ended up being special though because it was Tom’s late nanas birthday. Our venue was easy. I’ve always wanted to get married in Nana and Pops garden and it was as amazing as I thought it would be.

Did you have a theme/colour scheme for your wedding? Our theme was rustic/country. I had rust-coloured bridesmaids dresses and dried flowers which all ties in perfectly.

Tell us about the ceremony - did you write your own vows? Our ceremony was short and sweet. Just how we wanted it. Zoe Batt was our celebrant, and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough. We wrote our own vows with her help, and everything ran smoothly.

Where did you have your photos taken? After the ceremony we went out to my Aunty and uncles farm at Otama where we had about 2/3 locations where we took photos. We wanted the county scenery, wool sheds, hay paddocks etc. we absolutely love our photos with the bridal party, and it was so much fun.

Which is your favourite photo from the wedding day? Why? I have 2. There is one of Tom, George, and I in front of the roses at the ceremony and it’s such a special photo of the 3 of us finally becoming a team. The other is Tom and I in front of an old shed just the two of us and the sky’s amazing.

Tell us about your reception? We had our reception at the Heartland Hotel Gore. They were so easy to deal with and helped us set up the night before which was handy. The meal was delicious, and it was so easy for guests to stay there as well after they partied long into the night. We had “Old School” as our band and the dance floor was always full. It was so much fun.

What was the most memorable part of the day? Walking down the aisle. We didn’t do a first look and I thought I would regret it but the emotions when I saw Tom standing at the end of the isle waiting for me was incredible. It’s beyond any other feeling by far.

Is there anything you would do differently in retrospect? I can honestly say we would not change a thing. We had the perfect day.
