We met through mutual friends after about a year after I moved to Invercargill to study. We used to hang out at one of the flats every weekend! That group of friends is all still pretty close which is super cool!

How did he propose?

We were walking our dog, Duke at the beach. I was a little bit ahead of Scott and he said my name and when I turned around he was down on one knee 😍

How did you choose your wedding dress?

I actually won an appointment first with Donna Rae! Scott's mum and sister came with me and I figured out the style I loved. When my mum was MOH were down for our engagement party, I had another appointment and found the one! It was definitely a moment!

How did you choose your date/venue?

The date was based around Scott's job, which is seasonal so this time was nearing the end of season so we honeymoon after.

Did you have a theme/colour scheme for your wedding?

Yes definitely! I loved the rich burgundy and Blush tones with lots of greenery. Our flowers were heaven!

Tell us about the ceremony - did you write your own vows?

Our celebrant was a family friend so we had made Skype calls before the big day. We included lots of really personal elements throughout which was had so many comments about people just loving. My grandad singing and then getting all of our guests too also was definitely a highlight! We did write our own vows and both really loved doing that!

Where did you have your photos taken?

We had our main bridal photos at Oreti River and then lots at the Hideaway too, it's such an incredible venue with so many options but we both love the water, so wanted to incorporate that somehow!

Which is your favourite photo from the wedding day? Why?

This is such a hard one! I think it might have to be the champagne pop where I'm laughing looming at Scott. We just look so happy and in the moment!

Tell us about your reception?

The marquee looked incredible and just how I envisaged! Banquet tables, lots of beautiful greenery, festoon lighting and donut favours! Our dessert station was unreal and people raved about the buffet. It looked magical.

What was the most memorable part of the day? Again, so hard! I think looking back it would just be having all of our family and friends together. The day ran so seamlessly and we are just so grateful to have been able to have everyone there!
